WEDDING AT THE GROVE

A bride who knows her own style, likes and dislikes is a force to be reckoned with. When this family came to JustSeventy for their first daughter’s wedding, approximately eight months prior to the date, the collaboration of ideas commenced and the direction was clear.

With a venue already confirmed, the planning was able to take off quickly with the booking of a showband and mood boards to inspire the design of the rooms. The layout, dressing and design of the Ballroom needed to be unique and bespoke, the bride was understandably adamant on avoiding a replication of any weddings that she had previously seen.

In the first meeting, the JustSeventy team were presented with a collection of images sourced by the bride to influence the overall look and design of the wedding. There was a heavy focus on the inclusion of flowers, along with her preferred colour palate. This direction from the beginning made for an immediately productive and streamlined design stage, starting with the drawings before involving the chosen florist and then viewing the physical samples.

The aim was not only to add exquisite floral centrepieces to the dining tables but to transform the entire ballroom into a romantic and enchanted forest with floral works of art throughout. On the day it was clear that the brief had been met and the guests were blown away by the sweet-scented floral masterpieces.

Under a breath-taking canopy of blossom, flowers and foliage, the bride and groom wed in front of their friends and family. Following this special moment of the wedding ceremony, the guests made their way through to the reception where they were greeted with champagne and delicious canapés. While they all enjoyed this time, the JustSeventy team were busy directing a rapid and precise turnaround of the ballroom space, with the removal of the ceremony backdrop, and full set up for dinner and partying taking place.

The layout of the room consisted of a raised top table area, the perfect way to see all the guests clearly, an impressive stage ready for the showband, and all topped off with even more floral magic – cherry blossom trees throughout.

With everyone working hard to complete the transformation in just one hour, once the varying shapes of tables were all set, the guests were invited back in. Many did not believe it was the same space and they all were in awe of the décor and level of detail that had been delivered.

Between dancing, speeches and overall enjoyment, the guests enjoyed a tailor-made menu before a very special moment took place on the stage. The Father of the Bride had decided that one of his many gifts to the bride would be a surprise performance on the night, in addition to his speech. It is something that he had done previously for a charity event and other functions but delivering a well-rehearsed song and dance for his daughter’s wedding was important to him and turned out to be very memorable and entertaining for all present.

This special performance was just the start of the party and the band got everyone up on the dance floor all night. Through the beautiful blossom trees, the wedding guests were seen to be having a wonderful time, dancing to the music right until the end.

The journey from early planning stages to the final song was a really special one for the JustSeventy team, getting to know the families and creating their dream vision for this once-in-a-lifetime moment. The abundance of blossom incited the start of the year’s spring season, to match the newlyweds’ fresh start as husband and wife together.
