The Late Late Show

The second Bar Mitzvah in this family, and they had seen enough of the format to want something else entirely. Using their North American connections and the family's favourite television, we recreated The Late Late Show with James Corden. The client's real objection was to speeches, so we built the evening around a panel show instead.

The signals started at the door: staff and crew in personalised t-shirts reading Producer and Crew. Then the ballroom revealed a full working television set on a central stage, sofa, branded mugs and all. A professional presenter from Sky TV and a floor manager ran it as a broadcast. The Bar Mitzvah boy's friends and sister were interviewed rather than made to give speeches, which held the room far better. A large LED backdrop carried a Carpool Karaoke film of messages from family. Tables were named after features from the show.
