CREATIVE CIRCUS

When this client came to JustSeventy, they had booked the iconic Claridge’s Hotel for their son’s Bar Mitzvah yet required full venue and event management from our team. Their brief of “We want something different” may have been something to intimidate many event planners, but that is the exact style of brief on which the JustSeventy team thrive… an opportunity to be creative and do something amazing.

The concept and theme developed to a point where it was decided that a full circus would be created! This mammoth task of a two-day build to transform the classically elegant hotel ballroom into a real circus ring was exhilarating and truly a joy for our team. A new carpet and full draping of the room, decorated plasma screens and raised podiums were all part of the plan executed by the production team who then later continued their excellent work with impeccable sound and effective lighting.

A Bar Mitzvah designed in this way was a new concept and had not been seen previously: the entire event encapsulated the theatrical phenomenon that is La Soirée. This innovative show was presented on the central stages and the evening was a fully immersive experience for all guests in attendance. Whether adult or child, the guests were gripped by the exceptional entertainment which included a ringmaster, aerial performers and stilt walkers. Guests were served delicious food which continued the theatrical theme and included frozen tomato and basil lollipops with dry ice for added drama.

Every detail had been considered from the transport of the bar mitzvah boy to the exquisite stationery – nothing was left to chance, with everything created especially for him.

“Different” was the brief” and that was exactly what our clients got! This creative performance was a challenge and one that was perfectly executed, resulting in delighted clients and riveted guests.
