A musical family who live on rock music, asking for an elegant and classic Bar Mitzvah with an edge. The evening ran a traditional shape. The décor did the work. A blank-canvas venue in central London gave us the shell to build it in. Guests came upstairs first for a drinks reception, canapés and a run of creative drinks from the caterer.

The main space held tables dressed with floral designs, bespoke stationery and detailing matched to the theme. Suspended over the whole room was a rig of filament bulbs set at varying heights, an urban ceiling of light. Lighting shifted through the night to pull focus where it was needed. Sound mattered more than anyone realised until the moment it did. The Bar Mitzvah boy's entrance was rock and roll: his brother and father already on stage with guitars, then the boy walking on with his own. A show band flown in from Paris carried the rest. A VIP arcade room, shot girls, UV neon balloons and CO2 guns fired from the balcony kept the floor full until the bar closed.
